Barbara passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
Remaining to cherish her memory are Jim, her husband of 35 years, daughter Kathy, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father Rowland, mother Dorothy, brother Jack and sister Helen.
Family was very important to Barbara. She was always there to support and encourage all of us.
In the past she volunteered with the Christmas Cheer Board, working in the warehouse, delivering hampers and knitting.
A special thank you to her current physician Dr. D. Haligowski and her former, (now retired) physician Dr L. Ullyot. Also thank you to all of the staff who cared for her at Grace Hospital, especially the 3rd floor north staff.
A heart of gold stopped beating
Working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
You were always there when we needed you
No task too great or small,
With a loving heart and willing hand
For us you did them all.
Thanks for the years you gave us
And for the times we shared,
We only pray when you left us
You knew how much we cared.
The hearts that loved you dearly
Are the ones that won't forget.
A funeral service will be held at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, on Wednesday, April 24, at 11:30 a.m., with viewing 30 minutes prior.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christmas Cheer Board, P.O. Box 51089, Winnipeg, MB R2X 3C6 or to Harvest Manitoba, 1085 Winnipeg Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0S2.
