Gail Beverley Melville passed away on April 15, 2024, after a brief illness.
Gail was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Allan; brother Brian; and parents, William and Marion Whitehead. She is survived by her children, Gary (Ellie) and Sandi (Gary); her grandchildren, Sarah, Patricia (Ben), Christopher, Skylar (Christina) and Rylan (Katrina); five great-grandchildren; and her brother Gordon Whitehead.
Gail grew up in St. Vital, attending Glenwood School and Glenlawn Collegiate. She graduated from Class 1954A of the Grace Hospital School of Nursing, where she continued working until 1960. After a Nursing Refresher Course in 1978, she began working for Dr. Lloyd Bartlett until her retirement in 1997.
After retirement, mom and dad enjoyed many winter trips to Palm Desert, Scottsdale, Fort Myers, and Osoyoos. But summers were always spent at the family cottage at Star Lake. Many lasting memories were made there with family and friends.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
