I was thinking about "Mr. Taylor" today, as I would respectfully call him. Back in the 60's and early 70's you would always address your friend's parents formally. Rob was really a unique soul. A hard working family man who was dedicated to his wife and children, Joe and Linda. His lifelong stutter, which was quite pronounced, disappeared when we he would sing. He had a very pleasant voice as did his wife Peggy. They sounded beautiful together. Sonny & Cheresque… From my elementary school days through my teenage years I would spend as much time in their home as my own. Rob was slow to anger and very generous. He loved to laugh, and got a big kick out of Joe and I. We would set up our band equipment in their living room on Albany Street in St. James and practice at full volume. If they didn’t like it, they never said a word…they loved that Joe had the music in him. If you have seen his son Joe’s garden, then you have had a glimpse at Rob’s gift…his green thumb was immediately evident at the Taylor homestead. - Posted by: Dave Abbott (Family Friend) on: Dec 04, 2024

My condolences to Joe and the girls. I recognized his smile right away. He was a character! Take care of yourselves. I think of you often. - Posted by: Joanna Blais (Friend of family) on: Apr 27, 2024
