LUCIEN CHOUINARD

September 5, 1944 - April 22, 2024

Peacefully with his family by his side, Lou passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Beausejour Hospital.

Lou loved his visits with family and friends, and enjoyed these times playing games, joking, teasing and laughing together. He was a hardworking man who loved to build, invent and create (turning old into new), dig, cut firewood and be in the bush, read, watch movies, check out pawn shops/garage sales for treasures, eat sweets, fishing, their house on the river, a good chat on conspiracy theories, life after death and the unknown, and a cold beer.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter Christine (Jeff), grandchildren, Amanda (Jason), Michael (Sheena), Daniel (Tyana) and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, Gage, Onyx, and Ezekiel.

Lou also leaves behind sisters, Alice Plamondon, Eva Frechette (Raymond), Cecile St. Amant, and Adeline Major (Jim), brother, Victor Chouinard (Cecillia), brother-in-law, Stan Neufeld, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Clothilde, parents, Albert and Alexia Chouinard, sisters, Therese Hebert, Annette Steingart, and Lucille Neufeld, brother, Denis Chouinard, brothers-in-law, Raymond Hebert, Emile Plamondon, Romeo St. Amant and Ed Steingart, and sister-in-law, Denise Chouinard.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stony Plains Terrace Supportive Housing, and the MMF for all of the support and care given to him over the past several years and the Beausejour Hospital for their loving care in his final days.

A Celebration of Life will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024 at the Garson Community Club, 9 Thompson Avenue, Garson, MB. This is an informal, come and go, gathering of family and friends to share in a time of fellowship, stories and refreshments.
