Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALAN MCMILLAN
On January 20, 2024, our beloved Al passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving us all in shock and broken hearted.
Al will be forever loved and missed by his wife Marilyn; son Patrick: daughter-in-law Alison; granddaughter Holly; sister Patricia (Ralph); stepson Jonathan; father-in-law Dave; best friend Pat (Mern); brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and a lifetime of friends he truly cherished.
Al was predeceased by his parents, Pat and Freda; sister Delores and brother-in-law Jim; sister Lorraine and brother-in-law Ivan; niece Rhonda and mother-in-law Ida.
Al worked hard all his life, starting as a child of ten years old, helping farmers in the Ashern area. As a young man, he worked as a lineman in several provinces across Canada, the job he always said he had enjoyed the most. He purchased Ashern Electric in 1987 and ran his business successfully for many years. He established P.C.M., contracting and owned and operated it until his passing. Al was a skilled electrician and there was nothing he couldn’t fix or modify. He was also a talented musician, playing both piano and guitar beautifully.
Al was a strong and rock-solid man. He was also kind and generous with a soft and tender heart. He gave Marilyn the happiest years of her life and she will carry the love and memories of him in her heart forever.
Thank you to John and Karen Gray of Arnason Funeral Home for your love and support.
A Celebration of Life will be held between 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (reflections at 2:00 p.m.) on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at our home in Ashern at 145138 Hwy 325 W. Please bring a chair.

Dear Alan, my kissin’ cousin! It is so very hard to say goodbye to you!!! You were always a very important part of my life, since we were toddlers! I remember when I was 6 or 7 and we were playing outside in your parents farm! You decided it would be fun to open the gate and let the rooster or turkey out of his pen! I was scared and started to run towards the house, with him running behind me pecking at my butt! You thought it was so funny but Auntie Freda was not very happy with you, but she was laughing when I got to the house! We spent a lot of time together growing up and I was so thankful that you were my cousin and best friend! You used to always talk to me when we were teens about your problems with girls! It has been awhile since we have seen each other but we always kept in touch by phone or texting! You were there for me when my Mom died and also my sister Olive!!! I remember fondly when you called me last year and during our conversation, you asked me “Why did we call each other kissing’ cousins when we never kissed??” We had a good laugh about that! I reminded you in that call that when my boys were younger they used to refer to you as “Uncle Al, the kiddies pal!!!! You called me one week before you passed and we had such a good talk, I will never forget! You told me how happy you and Marilyn were and that she was trying to teach you how to cook! 🤩 You talked about your son Patrick and his family and how proud you were of them! You also said that your little love was your Granddaughter Holly who you called your little peanut! You were more than proud of them! We finally said so long and how much we loved each other! Then exactly seven days later I got a call to say that that you had passed! I was devastated! I will never forget the conversation we had the week before! You expressed how happy you were and how contented you were with your life! I will never forget you Alan and my love will never cease!!! Until we meet again❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰😢😢😢😢👍👍 - Posted by: Wendy Olafson (Sveistrup) (Cousin) on: May 06, 2024
