It is with extreme sadness that the family of Catherine Dawn McPherson announces her sudden passing at Stonewall Hospital on April 24, 2024.
Cat is survived by her children, Benjamin and Ellie, her mother Elizabeth Tinker Palson (John), father Craig Perry, sister Jessica and Ashton and precious niece Madeline, sister Emily, and brother Dylan. She is also survived by Ben and Ellie’s father Trevor, Amma and Afi Doug and Francine Albertson, aunts and uncles, Theresa and Wellington Dankochik (Harris and Hunter), Kevin and Thora Palson (Anna), David Perry, Burton Perry, and Trevor’s parents, Kelly and Ward, as well as great-uncles and aunts, cousins, friends and all her coworkers at Fry-Days.
Catherine was born in Winnipeg on April 28, 1990. She attended Lord Wolseley school and Elmwood High, graduating with honours in 2008. Cat and Trevor started dating in 2007, fell in love and married in 2013. Ben was born in 2015 and Ellie in 2019. She was so proud of her babies, they were the loves of her life. In 2022 Catherine and the kids moved to Teulon where she got a job at Fry-Days. Catherine loved life and her favourite pastime was rock picking, filling her pockets with rocks, glass and anything else she found coming from the beaches of Lake Winnipeg. She taught her kids to fill their pockets with all kinds of beach treasures. Her bubbly personality will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gimli Pavilion. To honour Cat please wear something purple if you have it.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a trust for Cat’s children, benandellietrust@gmail.com, or at any TD bank, Branch# 6236 Account# 6267188.
