Peacefully, with family by his side, John Loewen was received into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at the Health Sciences Centre on May 6, 2024, at the age of 91.
He has left many precious memories to his children, Marilyn (Bill) Lennox, Esther (Tony) Zvacek, Arnold (Wanda) Loewen, Weldon (Ev) Loewen, Larry (Colleen) Loewen, Val (Darren) Willems and Roxane (Todd) Loeppky as well as 34 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother Abe (Marie) Loewen.
The Celebration of Life service for John will be held on May 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, 500 Lagimodiere Blvd. A viewing service will be held on Sunday, May 12 at Friends Funeral Services, 2146 Main St. at 7:00 p.m.
As a family we give our deepest appreciation to the Crossroads Mennonite Brethren Church community for their love and support for our Dad. We were blessed and encouraged by the staff of Donwood Manor, Rosewood and Health Sciences Centre for the compassionate care they gave to our Dad.

My condolences to the family. For over 26 years I saw John at Crossroads MB Church almost every Sunday. We also shared many discussions in the Men's Ministry and Sojourners Care groups for over 25 years. John was a great help to fix things around the church and other places. One project we worked on with Helen his wife was repairing and painting the fence at Caris House. 10 gallons of paint were applied.
