MARCEL ARTHUR BRISSETTE
Marcel had a magnetic presence. He greeted everyone with genuine interest, asking about their well-being and family. Marcel cherished his friendships, whether it was joining high school buddies for bike rides, golfing with his regulars at Niakwa Golf and Country Club, or maintaining connections from his career at Black and MacDonald, where he rose to Vice-President Manitoba/Saskatchewan before retiring in 2014.
Family was Marcel's anchor, and he adored spending time with them, especially during his travels and gatherings. He relished barbecues, New Year brunches, and holiday dinners, ensuring everyone felt included.
Highlights for him, were the births of his granddaughters and adventures like fishing trips to the Arctic - and his wife, Edie Lipson, who was his rock.
Marcel was a sociable spirit, comfortable in any setting, whether attending parties or holiday celebrations. He was known for his generosity and appreciation for good company and food. “Marcel stories” will be rich with fond reminiscences told by many.
A graveside service for Marcel will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024, followed by meal of condolence.
Marcel will be fondly remembered and missed by Edie, Beau (Jen) and granddaughter Eva, Bonnie (Heidi) and granddaughter Skyler, Rose, Robert (Barbara), Paul (Debbie), Paula (Bryan), and Jerry along with his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Marcel was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Arthur Brissette, his sister Diane, and his brother-in-law Bob.
Deeply felt gratitude is extended to Marcel’s family doctor, Dr. Cathrine Kisil and for the compassionate and caring teams at Health Sciences Centre, CancerCare Manitoba, Riverview and Palliative Care.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to donate to CancerCare Manitoba.
