It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Douglas Keith Donahue on May 8, 2024, at the age of 73. He passed peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital with family by his side.
Doug is survived by his wife Evelyn (nee Schindel), his three sons, Sean, Bradley and Kyle (Shelby), three grandchildren and brother, David. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Marie Donahue.
Doug was born on June 4, 1950, in Selkirk, MB. He grew up and spent all of his life in the town of Beausejour. In 1977 he married the love of his life Evelyn, and together they started a family. Doug was a lifelong musician who played a variety of instruments in multiple bands. He also had a love of technology. He was one of the pioneers of the internet with MTS where initially he was the only employee in that department. Doug was an avid reader who loved history books, especially the history of Manitoba. More than anything he loved his family. He cherished every moment that they spent together.
Anyone who knew Doug would know that his wit and humour was second to none.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to STARS Air Ambulance.
A memorial service will be held at Sobering Funeral Chapel in Beausejour, MB on May 17 at 2:00 p.m.

We are so sorry to hear of Doug’s passing. Both my wife and I had the pleasure working with Doug throughout those early Internet days. He was such a good person with a great sense of humour that we both appreciated. He often spoke so very highly of his family of which he was very proud. Sincerest condolences, Colette & Gary Olsen - Posted by: Gary Olsen (Friend) on: May 15, 2024

So sorry to hear of Doug’s passing. To me he was always known as David’s younger brother. His band played at our wedding. My condolences go out to his family. - Posted by: Randy Urbanski (Friend ) on: May 14, 2024
