Suddenly on May 18, 2024, our loving mother and grandmother passed away at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 75.
Peggy is survived by her daughter Shannon, granddaughters, Bailey and Jenny, grandson Gage; her brother Lib and sister-in-law Betty; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Sigurbjorn and Rose Bjornson, daughter Cindy Brown, brothers, Kravel and Olie, sisters-in-law, June and Marg.
Peggy was born at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, October 14, 1948, she was the youngest of four. Peggy was a teen during the 1960s. She tried to see the Beatles when they briefly landed in Winnipeg but didn't make it. Burton Cummings driving her home after sock hopes. So many fun stories.
Peggy married Ron Brown in 1969, they had three daughters together before settling in Arborg in 1977. Peggy became active in the community, becoming a Brownie Leader, as well as the unofficial score keeper for all baseball games her daughters played. Any kid that needed a ride could count on Peggy to get them to the game.
Peggy started life again as a single lady in 1991. She also followed through on two things she wanted to complete. Peggy completed RCIA to become Catholic as well as going back to school and graduating high school at ACI in 1996.
Always the city girl, once Peggy’s daughters were on their own, she moved first to Selkirk then back to Winnipeg having missed the environment she grew up in. During this time Peggy became a grandmother of five. Her greatest joy was her family. Always loving. Always loves.
