RUTH OTTE
Peacefully, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, with the family nearby her side, Mom passed away at St. Boniface.
She was born and raised in Reston, Manitoba, to William and Lillian Oberlin. Mom leaves to mourn her passing daughter Darlene Neal (Rick), son Neil Otte (Diane), grandchildren, Diane Santarsieri (Jim), Kailee Neal (Mike), and Steven Otte (Cyndall), five great-granddaughters, and five great -great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are her sister Betty Downey and sister-in-law Cindy Oberlin, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother William.
Mom was an avid crocheter, knitter, and gardener, teaching her children many tricks of the trade, but she always knew when she’d had ENOUGH!
Throughout her life she made many friends as a Rebekah lodge member and caring for many as an LPN at a few nursing homes. She loved animals more than anything and loved to care for them as well.
Donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
Mom will be missed by many and loved by all. R.I.P. Mom.
You can only have one mother,
Patient, kind and true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same for you.
When other friends forsake you,
To mother you will return;
For all her loving kindness,
She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture,
Sweet memories we recall;
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all.
Sweet Jesus, take this message,
To our Dear Mother up above,
Tell her how we miss her,
And give her all our love.
A celebration of her life will take place on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg.
