Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Mrs. Sanderson (Fran) was my mentor who made me her Assistant Director of the high-school glee club that she founded in McCreary. She also helped me prepare an audition for the Centennial Peace Gardens European Tour for which I was fortunate enough to be chosen! This was a highlight of my life. She encouraged me to attend several choir workshops at Brandon University. We kept in touch after she left McCreary for Dauphin and again when she moved to Wpg. The last time I spoke to her on the phone was Dec. 4, 1919. After that I got no answer, so I thought she must have moved. I admired and respected her for her love of music and how she passed on her passion to so many. She certainly enriched my life. My Condolences go to her family. She will be missed. - Posted by: Barbara Francois (Member of the McCreary high school glee club and friend ) on: Aug 02, 2024

  • Fran was a friend for many years. We would have coffee at least two or three times a month. She would always bring pictures of her grandchildren when I moved off Southlake we kept up our coffee and she would always share stories of her travel to visit her family that she dearly loved, I lost touch with Fran a few years ago and didn’t know how to get in touch with her. I was just flipping through the paper this morning and saw her obituary. I have so many fond memories of Fran. She taught me music. I’m surprised she didn’t quit teaching after me.. I want to send condolences to the family at this time of sadness. Fran was a fabulous woman. I enjoyed our friendship. - Posted by: Lynn Krepart (Old neighbour and friend on Southlake Drive) on: Jul 14, 2024

  • I sang with Mrs. Sanderson in junior choir (Kirkfield United Church) then did most of my Royal Conservatory theory with her. She was always joyful, encouraging, and engendered a love of music in those around her. Many thanks for her many gifts shared so freely. - Posted by: Jeffrey Steele (Former student) on: Jun 08, 2024
