Peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, June 9, 2024, less than a month away from her 97th birthday, a beautiful soul left this earth. Enid was born on July 4, 1927, at the family cottage in Matlock Beach because her parents were sure they had at least another week of holiday.
She was the heart of a large family. Married for 75 years to Russell, they had four children, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives.
Community service was very important to her. She sang in the choir and was a key member of Silver Heights United Church for 70 years. She was president of St. James YMCA and at age 56 went back to university to earn her Arts Degree with distinction.
We would like to thank her extended family at Colorado Estates, her wonderful doctor and dedicated care workers and palliative team for all their support.
She was much loved and will be greatly missed.
A family celebration of her extraordinary life will be held this summer.

Tim and I did tours of Europe. Russ and Enid were our favourite couple and we became such good friends. We moved to Victoria, BC in 1996 but kept in contact. Russ and Enid visited us here in Victoria. Many fond, fond memories. Tim died in September, 2022. I wrote his memoirs in a published book entitled, 'Everything Reminds Me of Tim.'
