With heavy hearts, we announce that Jared left us on June 13, 2024 at the age of 39.
A Celebration of Jared’s Life will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2024 (168 Wilton St).
The family expresses deep gratitude to the care team at St. Boniface ICMS for their compassionate care and to Ethical Death Care for their touching photo-biography video honoring Jared's life, accessible through the ‘tributes’ link at the bottom of this obituary.

I'm still in shock. It's not real to me yet. I'm still expecting you to call or show up with some crazy stories or what you been up to but so worried about me and getting me on the right track. We been through so much together. I feel partly to blame for not trying harder to get you clean. You did so much for me. You helped so many people. And you truly loved me you showed me what it was like to be loved unconditionally and I'll never forget that. I will miss you so much. And to his family I'm so, so very Sorry. My condolences. Shelley Baker - cousin (Victoria, BC) June 18, 2024 at 1:37 PM Jared left this world far too early. He possessed many endearing qualities which will be cherished by those who knew him best, for many years to come. His intelligence, quick wit and wonderful sense of humour were but a few of the many characteristics which made Jared wonderfully unique. Jared and I share(d) the same afflictions. We understood one another. I am a hugger, as was he. He gave the best hugs. Long, strong, loving hugs. He helped my partner and I build our house. He was absurdly charismatic, nearly to a fault. He is the reason we found our non-blood family and brought us all together. He could find a lost person and make them feel at home. Extending heartfelt condolences to all. This tragedy is not an outcome of a resourced, encouraging and supportive Egalitarian community. I feel for the sadness this creates for so many and truly hope that the safety & peace we all desire, deserve & need will land everyone home in themselves. Jared is, was and will always/all ways be a mighty presence. This loss creates a massive hole that only love, not judgement can heal.
