John Thomas Dodds passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at the age of 74.
John was raised in Elgin, MB, attending school in Hartney where he graduated high school. He then moved to Killarney where he completed his auto mechanic training. After working as a mechanic for a few years, John made the switch to truck driving which became his life long career.
In his retirement John enjoyed building models and was able to put his carpentry skills to good use. John befriended his neighbours and soon had a close group of friends from El Salvador. John was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Susan; daughters, Leslie (Nick) Paulet, Jolene Dodds, Jamey Leigh (Chris) Weber; step-daughters, Tammie Gates and Kristine Pugh (Len) Podruski; grandsons, Tyler, Troy, Kyran and Jade; brother Don (Fran) Dodds; sisters, Janice (Dave) Hodgson and Mildred (Marvin) Gebauer, as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by parents, Jim and Emily Dodds; John and Freda Stobbe and Bruce Stobbe.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at the Brandon Senior for Senior Center, 311 Park Avenue East, Brandon, MB on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
