Elaine McConnell, aged 95, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024, at Charleswood Long Term Care Home. Elaine was born on October 11, 1928, in Winnipeg, MB.
She leaves behind five children, Fred, Terry, Cindy (Ross), Shelley (Rick) and Jodi (Arne), six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Elaine was married to Albert (Bert), who preceded her in death in 2000.
Elaine grew up in Winnipeg, spent her married life in Churchill, Red Lake, Sault Ste Marie, Sioux Lookout, and returned back to Winnipeg in 1976.
Elaine worked part time in the Medical Records Department at Grace Hospital. For 17 years, she was a resident at Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts and was known for her outgoing nature and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Elaine’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.
A private family ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either:
