EMIL BULAS

After many years coping with Parkinsons, it is with sadness to announce the passing of Emil (Emiall) Bulas, age 87 years, on June 20, 2024 at Neepawa Country Meadows Care Home.

Emil was the second child of four siblings born to John and Nellie (nee: Zuke) Bulas in the district of Alonsa, MB on October 17, 1936.

After completing his early school days in Alonsa, Emil continued to Brandon College of Agriculture. In his early years he had a keen interest in wildlife, curling, hockey and all the surrounding community dances. It was at one of these dances where he met Carol Elizabeth Walker of Plumas, MB whom he married on August 3, 1963. They carried on the Bulas family farm in Alonsa until 1966 when they moved to Plumas to expand the family farm with Carol’s parents, Philip and Natalie Walker. In 2002 Emil and Carol semi-retired to a home in Plumas but continued their involvement with daily farm activities.

Emil is predeceased by his wife of almost 53 years, Carol (2016). His parents John (1967) and Nellie (1972) Bulas. Beloved brothers Joseph (2003) and Walter Bulas (2001). As well as many other family members, in-laws, cousins and friends who have gone on before. He’s survived by Darrin (Christina) Bulas, Timothy and Ella. Twila (John) Schultz, Suzanne (Owen) and Carly-Jo. His remaining sibling, sister Darlene Moar as well as sister-in-law Diann Bulas. Also mourning his loss are many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Emil’s funeral was held June 25, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Plumas, MB officiated by Pastor James Vosper. His earthly remains are laid to rest beside Carol in the Tupper Cemetery where, through baptismal grace, await the joy of resurrection at the coming of Our Lord.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be forwarded to Parkinsons Society of Manitoba or Concordia Lutheran Seminary-Edmonton. Many thanks to Clarke’s Funeral Home Gladstone-MacGregor for their excellent service and compassionate care of arrangements.
