LAURA MARY MAJOR
It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Laura.
Laura (mama) is survived by husband Oliver; her children, Charlene (Dave) and Greg (Lesley); seven grandchildren, Chantelle (Chad), Mark, Jordan, Steven (Devin), Danielle (Paul), Meghan, and Emma; and five great-grandchildren, Easton, Presley, Raine, Nixon, and Cooper who will miss her immensely.
Mama enjoyed gardening, she loved flowers, cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, bingo, and regular trips to the casinos. However… there was nothing she loved more than being our “mama”.
Her unending love for her family has made an impact on us all and will remain embedded in our hearts forever.
A special thank you to Mandi and her staff for all their love, kindness, care, and compassion for our mama.
We will celebrate her life at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Maple Grove Park (100 Frobisher Road).

Laura and I go back 54 years or so. She was the first person to take me to McDonalds.(1970) Two cheese burgers being the standard order. She always treated me with kindness and generosity. Later during our terrible twenties, she could always be counted on to lend me a dart, du Maurier Ultra Light 100's, these smokes were half a meter long. Her French fries were legendary. Many billiard games were enjoyed on Laura's sewing table in the Barrington basement. I am sure we messed up more than one project making room to play a game. She never chewed us too badly. I often moderated the odd family squabble in the famous basement as well. I always positioned myself in close proximity to the stairs just in case. Rest in peace Laura. Thanks for the memories.
