Gord was full of life and laughter and love. His grandchildren were the "apples of his eye" and he loved spending time with them. He will be sorely missed by many.
The family expresses gratitude to Ethical Death Care for their touching photo-biography video honoring Gord's life, accessible through the 'tributes' link at the bottom of this obituary.
In accordance with their wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration will be held.

I used to do a lot of travelling with the hotel I worked at and Gord was there representing Travel Manitoba. He was hysterical and made the road trips fun. I didn't know Gord outside of these 'working' ventures but I do remember he was a big Chicago Cubs fan and I am glad they won the World Series prior to his passing. - Posted by: Chris (Friend from the past) on: Jul 07, 2024

We were saddened to hear of Gord’s passing, he was part of the River Heights group of friends in my teens. I have fond memories of playing hockey with Gord either on the ice or road hockey at the Sir John Franklin Community Centre. Always good natured and happy to see you. We moved to Burnaby years ago but you never forget the friends from your youth. Gord and Susan Malcolm - Posted by: Gordon Malcolm (Friend) on: Jun 30, 2024

Gord and I attended JB Mitchell School when it was a junior high. We did an assignment on Cuba together. We were never in the same home room but for music, we were combined with another class. There were 2 other 'Gordons' in the combined class, total 4 Gordons. Drove the eccentric music teacher nuts! He'd create a question and ask 'Gordon' to answer. Four of us would answer in unison "Which one?" If the follow up was 'Gordon Richardson' we'd chime in with another "Which one?" Poor Mr Rodnunsky! I checked in with Gord a few times and the last time we met was for a beer at a bar on south Pembina several years ago. I offer my sincere condolences to Elaine to whom I spoke on the phone a few times, and also to Kelly. - Posted by: Gordon C Richardson (School chum) on: Jun 29, 2024
