Joan Elizabeth Marowitch, age 69, died on June 18, 2024.
She leaves behind her siblings, John and Janet. She was predeceased by her father John and her mother Merle.
Joan was born in Winnipeg in 1954. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and a Master of City Planning. She subsequently held various positions in Prince Albert, Thompson, and Selkirk, before returning to Winnipeg.
Joan was passionate about social issues and approached her work as a city planner with great integrity and compassion for those who were marginalized. Her family greatly admired her strength of character and courage, which were key to the resilience with which she faced her final months. Her generous and kind nature were always evident. She will be greatly missed.
