Luc Gisiger passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, at the age of 96 years. His faith in God was very important to him throughout his long life. Luc was a thoughtful, loving and caring man who touched many people.
Luc will be dearly missed by his wife of 59 years Lucille, daughter Lynne (Robert), son Marcel (Nicole), and grandchildren Jenna (Colin), Steven (Maria), Kevin, Colin (Brooke), Patrick (Victoria) and Martin (Katie). Luc was also a recent proud Great Grandpa to Henri. Luc is survived by his brother Jean, sister Hélène and sisters-in-law Huguette (André) and Antoinette. He loved his many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Benoit and Jeanne, brother Joe (Yvonne), sisters Elise (Alexis), Marguerite, Angèle (Antoine), God daughter Viviane, sisters-in-law Thérèse, Gertrude, Raymonde, Eveline, Léontine, Jeannine, Jean and brothers-in-law Maurice, Raymond, Edouard, Alfred and Louis.
Luc grew up in St. Labre, Manitoba and worked on the family farm at a young age. He also helped the family by working in the forest, logging with his brothers. In 1964, he married Lucille, and they began a life together in Winnipeg. He worked many years at Supercrete until a workplace accident forced him into retirement.
Luc was a dedicated, proud and loving “papa” “grand-papa” “grandpa”. He and Lucille faithfully attended numerous sporting events or school functions for their kids and later their grandchildren. He loved playing cards and board games with his kids, grandchildren and siblings. He enjoyed spending time with family in many ways. He and Lucille loved babysitting their grandchildren and going on special family trips to the Lake or Grand Forks. Luc also loved being with family during Holiday gatherings.
He lived many years in their house in Windsor Park. There, Luc enjoyed fixing things around the house, going for walks in the neighborhood and kept a beautiful garden.
Merci pour tout Papa! On t’aime beaucoup.
The family would like to thank the staff at River Park Gardens PCH, Misericordia Place PCH and Misericordia Health Centre. They took great care of our dad.
Funeral and Eulogy will take place at Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens Catholic Church, 289 Dussault Ave. on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
