On June 28, 2024, at home with family by his side, Bill Hutton passed peacefully in his sleep at the age of 91 years.
Bill is survived by his wife of 68 years, Kay; his children, Richard (Wendy), Allison (John) and Elaine; his grandchildren, Emily (Michael), Nolen and Maddison; his sister-in-law Mona McDougall and his nieces and nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by his grandson Hayden, parents, William and Velva (nee Yerex) Hutton, his brother Robert and his wife Sheila, his sister Sheila Bradley, and his younger brother David and his wife Lynn; his brother-in-law Keith McDougall, his in-laws, the Bradbrooks and his brother-in-law Gordie Bradbrook.
Bill was employed with Manitoba Telephone System for 36 years. He also was part of many successful sports teams winning championships with Winnipeg Light Infantry Basketball and St. Vital Mustangs Football. He is a member of the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame, the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame and the Manitoba Football Hall of Fame.
A very profound thank you to the Palliative Care program that allowed us to bring Dad home to care for him in his final weeks. The support of all the home care staff and the palliative care nurses are very much appreciated - they are a special group of people who do this work and care.
In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be a funeral service. A private family celebration has taken place.

My deepest Condolences to Bill Hutton's family on his passing. Bill was my boss at Stores Department of Manitoba Telephone in the 1970's. I would like to share a quote with his loved ones. Bill has not died, but gone away to a better place, free of pain and suffering. We will see him again some day. Rest in Peace Bill.
