HELEN MOROZ

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Helen Moroz, on July 3, 2024.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lorne (Jane), Brian (Darlene), and Karen (Don); grandchildren, Blair (Tiffany), Jennifer, and Derek (Hailey); great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jayden, Sienna, and Reed. She will also be fondly remembered by her many friends and her large extended family, including her sister Evelyn, with whom she had a very close friendship, and her brother Harvey. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her parents, Reinhold and Julianna Fiebelkorn, two sisters, and eight brothers.

Helen was born in La Broquerie, Manitoba and grew up with her siblings on the family farm near Hanover, Manitoba. As a young woman she moved to Winnipeg, initially working at St. Boniface Hospital before working at Paulin Chambers. It was at Paulin Chambers that Helen met the love of her life, Joe. Helen and Joe were married in November 1955, spending 54 wonderful years together before Joe’s passing in May 2010.

Mom’s greatest joy was her family, whom she loved dearly. She was particularly proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, encouraging and supporting them in all of their pursuits. She cherished spending time with them and creating memories that will last forever.

Helen had many interests. She was an avid reader, often staying up late to finish that last chapter. She also enjoyed travelling, playing cards and bingo, going for walks, and watching golf. Mom loved to cook and bake and looked forward to hosting or bringing along a care package when visiting family and friends.

A celebration of Helen’s life will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB; with interment to follow.

Pallbearers are her son Brian; grandchildren, Blair, Jennifer, and Derek; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Jayden. Honorary pallbearer is her son Lorne.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in her memory would be greatly appreciated.

Mom, you have touched so many lives in your own special way. Your spirit lives on in all of our memories and within all of our hearts.
