SHAWN ANDREW HEALEY

January 13, 1959 – July 2, 2024

It is with deep sadness that the family of Shawn Healey announces his passing on July 2, 2024, with family at his side at the age of 65.

Predeceased by his parents Blaise and Gloria Healey of Kirkland Lake.

Forever loved by his wife Louise; children Ian (Tenille), Miranda (Jared), and Sarah (Scott). Remembered dearly by his grandchildren Anne, Brighdie, Seth, Laoghaire, Casey and Blair.

Shawn also leaves to mourn his sister Jennifer (Roger) Laflamme of Timmins, Ontario, his aunt Audrey Healey, sister-in-law Carol (Roman) Borowski, nieces Tiffany (Nathan) Rutetzki, April (Brian) Zerebeski, Jessica (Rolf) Von Keitz, and nephew Christopher Borowski.

Shawn was born and raised in Kirkland Lake, where he met his wife Louise. A hard-working, determined man, his career in the mining industry as a mill superintendent led him and his family to South Porcupine, Timmins, Gardener (Montana), Balmertown, Snow Lake, Thompson and Brandon. He worked in Guyana, Finland and Sweden, and travelled throughout Mexico and the Caribbean with his wife and family.

Shawn found the greatest happiness in the simple things – relaxing in his chair with his cat, Bootsie, on his lap, reading and listening to audio books, and keeping busy around the house after his retirement. In the final years of his life, he loved going for drives with Louise, going for lunch at the food court at the mall, and catching up on all his favourite television shows.

His greatest joy and consolation was his family. He spent his working life providing them with a secure and comfortable life. After he retired and became a grandfather, there was nothing he looked forward to more than spending time with his grandchildren. He gave the best hugs, cuddles and tickles. He was always there to talk to them and looked forward to their visits and video calls.

Shawn faced many health issues in his lifetime and fought hard against everyone. His love for his family and desire to be with them kept him strong and resilient until it was time for him to go to his rest. His family members will always remember and be inspired by his ability to take what life gave him and to make the best of it.

Shawn leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, unwavering support and unfailing humour. His family mourns his loss and draws comfort from their many wonderful memories with him that they will always cherish. We will love you forever and remember you always.
