ETHAN PERRY PULAK
It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Ethan Perry Pulak on July 8, 2024, from a brain aneurysm at the age of 26.
His memory will forever be cherished by his parents Patrick and April Pulak, his younger brother Sebastian (girlfriend Liz Schwennesen) and Ethan’s girlfriend and love, Meg Araya. Additionally, Ethan will be fondly remembered by his grandmother Rosalie Schrader, uncles Jeremy Schrader (Kylina), Gregory Pulak (Pauline), David Pulak, Aunt Marlene Kirton (Marlow) and their families as well as his many friends.
He is predeceased by his grandparents Florence and Arthur Pulak, Gary Schrader and Uncle Leonard Pulak.
After developing great friendships at Riverheights School, he graduated from Vincent Massey in 2016. He then completed his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology at Brandon University. In June 2024, after two years at Red River College, he received his 3rd Class Power Engineering. He graduated at the top of his class and received the gold medal for his outstanding achievement.
Inquisitive and naturally curious from a young age Ethan embraced with great enthusiasm everything he did and generously shared with those around him. He was most passionate about power lifting and fishing, but his interests were varied enjoying hockey, soccer, raising exotic plants, self-taught classical piano, cooking and even helping his mother coach badminton at Vincent Massey.
In October 2021 Ethan met Meg, the love of his life. Meg’s family and their Filipino background influenced Ethan’s cooking as he strove to perfect their ethnic recipes. Her family embraced Ethan as they would a son and they would influence his career path to become a Power Engineer.
Ethan’s bond with his family was unbreakable. He shared a special father-son bond with Patrick. Their recent project to refurbish a fishing boat is one that Patrick will complete with his brother Sebastian, in memory of Ethan. Ethan’s family embraced his passion for fishing. He spent many hours by the Assiniboine River in Brandon with friends and family. You will find Ethan’s name in Angler Manitoba, noting his many award-winning catches. He was respectful of conservation and always carefully released each fish. His parents fondly recall some of his epic catches, a Goliath Grouper in Florida, a Sturgeon on Fraser River and Catfish in Lockport. Fishing also created a bond with his brother. They were competitive, as most siblings are, but Sebastian shared how this competitiveness drove both to be better at all they did.
While hardworking, Ethan understood finding joy in life and sharing it with others. The family asks that you do the same - go out and do something that brings you real joy and share it with those around you.
A Celebration of Ethan's life will take place at McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church, 635 McDiarmid Drive, Brandon, MB, on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.

From Tim Bits hockey to midget house league, Ethan was always on the other side of the ice and darn did he know how to make me skate in the defensive end. We were both always amongst the smallest players in the league and I felt there was always a bit of a competition between us for title of "short king". I went to school with Ethan at Vincent Massey and I spent a lot of time at the gym watching Ethan beat me in every lift. Ethan was a fantastic guy, a good friend and an overall quality human being. He will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to the family. - Posted by: Max Parlow (School friend and hockey opponent) on: Jul 20, 2024
