SHIRLEY HARDY
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Shirley Doris Hardy at the age of 96 on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Concordia Place, with family at her side.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Ivy and Arthur Chapman, her husband Brian, daughter Carol and grandson Neil. Also predeceased by sisters, Joan and Marge and brother Bud. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Wendy (Ted), David (Sarah), and Val (Lorne); her brother Larry (Sheila); grandchildren, Rob, James, Tim (Lorianne), Jill (Brian), Michael (Brittany), Luc and Shea; great grandchildren, Jackson, Jordan and Jeremy, Brady, Everett and Madeline, Avery and Kennedy; great-great-granddaughter Parker.
Mom grew up in West Kildonan on Margaret Avenue. She met and married Dad and together they raised their four children on Royal Avenue. Mom’s main focus in life was loving and caring for her children and grandchildren. She had an interest in sports, participating in bowling and curling as well as watching the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers. She was an active member of Kildonan United Church and the UCW.
Mom will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Concordia Place for their kind and compassionate care of our mom.
In keeping with mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
