Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySUSAN TERESA REIMER
It is with great sadness that we announce Susan’s passing following a decline from Cancer on July 4, 2024, at the age of 68.
Susan will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sarah (Jose) and Samantha (Liam). She had been married to her husband Ron for 43 years, but was unfortunately widowed two years ago.
Susan developed a love for music early on and had fond memories of playing the piano, recorder and harp in her youth with her music group, the Prairie Consort. She worked for many years as a music teacher at Strathmillan School and later retired to dedicate her time to raising her family. Summers spent with her family at the cottage in Sandy hook were her favourite; where there was always a puzzle in progress.
Her many interests included reading, needlepoint, meeting friends for coffee, and a lifelong pursuit to learn Spanish. She also loved to travel and made many friends over the years in Mexico and Palm Springs. Her ability to connect with people wherever she went was something she inherited from her father. She was gracious and welcoming to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
We would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface hospital and CancerCare for their compassionate care. We also want to sincerely thank those that supported Susan through her final days. Your kindness and support was appreciated during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Endowment fund at St. Boniface Hospital or Habitat for Humanity Manitoba.

Sue was my colleague first at the University of Manitoba, then at the University of Oregon. She was a lively friend and a really talented musician, with a great sense of pitch and an uncanny sense of rhythm. In Richard Burleson’s collegium musicum, if Sue was not required to play the recorder, Richard handed the drum directly to her knowing that it would be played well and correctly. Sue and I went to Oregon at the same time, and we hung out together a lot during that first year in Eugene. I remember my smart and funny friend with great fondness. My best wishes and condolences to all her family and friends, Robert (Bob) Bradley. - Posted by: Robert Bradley (Friend) on: Aug 15, 2024

I worked down the hall from Susan at Strathmillan School. I was the French specialist. I always appreciated her musical talents, and the lovely concerts she got the students to create. She was always friendly. We lost track of each other after 1989 when I moved to another school. My condolences to her daughters. Losing both parents so close together is not easy. - Posted by: Cathie Morgan Matula (Former colleague at Strathmillan School) on: Jul 13, 2024

To Susan’s children Sara And Sammy and the family I am so sorry for your loss. We spent many years when we were young visiting at Auntie June and Uncle Bob’s home and Susan and Freddie were there where we used to love listening to them play all the instruments. She was a very talented lady. I truly have many memories of Susan and will cherish them in my heart. My sincere condolences go out to you all. God keep her safe. Veechnyah Pamyat. RIP Susan. 😇 - Posted by: Michele Halas Moore (Cousin) on: Jul 13, 2024
