It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Polly De Laronde on July 5, 2024, at the age of 86.
Polly is lovingly remembered by her son Ernie of Winnipeg and daughter Michelle (Dave Jones) of Calgary and grandchildren Jade, Axel and Jordee.
She was predeceased by her husband David De Laronde and her parents John and Maria Galawan and brothers Michael and Peter Galawan.
Polly was born on the family farm in Oak Lake, Manitoba and attended Hagyard School, a one room schoolhouse. After graduating high school, she moved to Winnipeg to attend Success Business College. She worked for the Department of Mines and Resources (federal government), which she thoroughly enjoyed. She married David in 1965 and left the workforce in 1969 to start her family.
A private interment will take place in Oak Lake, Manitoba.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Doctor Elise Crocker and the nurses of Unit 5E at St Boniface hospital for their kindness, support and care shown to Polly and her family.
