GORMA MARY MACDONALD

Gorma died peacefully on June 28, 2024 at Park Manor Care, her home since 2019. She was surrounded by care and affection.

Gorma was the only child of Mary and Frank MacDonald for whom she provided care as they aged. She happily lived most of her life in Transcona. She made lifelong friends at school, at her beloved Transcona Memorial United Church, and Confidence Rebekah Lodge No. 40. Gorma was well respected in her career in the offices of CN, working in Purchasing and Materials Management.

Intelligent and orderly in all that she said and did, Gorma liked things to be done ‘by the book.’ Her volunteer work at the church as a member of the UCW, Treasurer for the Trustees, a Council member, a member of the Worship and Welcome Team, Archives Committee, Explorer leader, Honourary Elder and more all benefitted from her skill and dedication. Gorma valued loyalty and friendship and was deeply committed to her faith.

Gorma enjoyed travel and visited many places. Always, Transcona was home, and she was grateful to live the end of her life in the community’s care.
