YVONNE AGNES LEWANDOSKI

(nee ESCARAVAGE)

1936 - 2024

It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of our mother, Yvonne Agnes Jeanne Lewandoski (nee Escaravage), born September 7, 1936. She left us on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the Assiniboine Centre with the family present.

Yvonne was born to Julien Prospere Pierre Escaravage from St. Savinien, France, who was born in 1894. Julien married Jeanne Emilienne (nee Goubaux) who was born in Houilles, France in 1895.

Yvonne grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba and attended St. James Collegiate. Yvonne married Leonard Harold Lewandoski, September 29, 1956, and had four children; Susan Hayward (Floyd children Eric, Laura); Janet Gusdal (Darren children Mitchel, Melissa); Judi Carmichael (Ernie children Olivia, Dylan); Mark Lewandoski (Lucy children James, Austin). Mom was a proud great-grandmother; Nova, Oliver, Liam, Darren, Ember. Yvonne was predeceased by brother Andre Escaravage, brother Pierre Escaravage, sister Marie Roberts, sister Madeleine Escaravage and son-in-law Darren Gusdal.

Yvonne was proud of her accomplishments in life as a mother of four, foster mother of eight, and having received a Catholic Women’s League award of 40 years.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the staff on the Palliative Care ward, the staff at Rotary Villa as well as the Catholic Women’s League. Your kindness and care was appreciated by our parents and family.

We also would like to thank all those who visited, called or sent flowers and messages to Mom and to our family members.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held St. Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church, 327-4th Street, Brandon, MB on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Okosun as celebrant. There will be a lunch to follow. All are welcomed. The interment will be at a later date.

For those unable to attend, a livestream of service for Yvonne will be available to view by visiting her tribute page at www.brockiedonovan.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Yvonne may be made to the Brandon Humane Society or to Society of St. Vincent de Paul (ssvp.ca).
