Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • Deepest Condolences to Geno's Family and Friends. I knew Geno for many years and whether it was attending car shows, planning car shows, buying cars or trips to Vegas to see NASCAR and a few shows, we always had a great time. Going to miss his weekly jokes and kidding around. I will always remember his terrific smile and solid handshake. - Posted by: Larry D'Argis (Friend) on: Sep 01, 2024

  • My deepest sympathies to all who loved and knew Geno. I first heard Geno. The booming voice echoing into the dealership. Than I saw him: it felt I was craning my neck towards the sky. Geno was a mountain of a man. Geno was an exuberant, friendly, hugging teddy bear. Geno knew how to make an entrance. As time went by we enjoyed old cars, good jokes, swapping stories and a friendship that spanned over 20 years. Geno you are cruising in the heavens with your stylish convertible. May God comfort all during this time of sorrow. Kindest regards Susan Bordun - Posted by: Susan Bordun (Friend/ co-worker) on: Aug 27, 2024

  • So sorry to hear of Geno's passing. He was a super nice guy, always happy and smiling. We seen him at a lot of car shows. My husband Dennis worked with Geno at CN about 59 yrs ago. Rest in Peace dear friend, till we meet again. - Posted by: Dennis & Marianne Fleming (Friend) on: Aug 26, 2024

  • Gino, what can I say. We had great times together, golfing, curling, and a lot of other things, only you and I will remember. The great days when we fully engaged in umpiring for 25yrs or more, hell at 85 yrs. young can't remember anything, but one thing sticks to my mind is the times we had umpiring in tournaments. Just about all our close umpiring friends are gone, sadly, but we'll so you when my time comes. Love you buddy. - Posted by: George Rodrigue (Friend) on: Aug 25, 2024

  • Of course we met Gino through “classic cars”. He had a larger than life personality that drew people to him. We have great memories of being together at car shows, The Fabulous Fifties sock hop, and NASCAR in Las Vegas. He was a welcome visitor at the farm in Grosse Isle, regaling us with his legendary storytelling. We’re very sorry to miss his celebration of life due to other commitments but send our Sincere Condolences to his family. Ride easy Gino! - Posted by: Bernie and Sharon van Kemenade (Friends) on: Aug 23, 2024
