Our father, grandfather, and husband Walter Meyer passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024. Born on January 5, 1944, in Krakow, Poland, Walter led the life of a hard-working family man, ever striving to provide the best life for his wife, sons, Keith and Michael, and to his Grandchildren, James, Alora, and Mia. Beside him for over 52 years stood his wife Lorna.
Always learning, teaching, or lecturing the kids on how to safely use power tools, Walter had an unyielding passion for sharing knowledge and wisdom. Walter was a natural born bookworm and has probably read most of the Internet. You could always find him digging through the latest political or historical fiction novel or article.
Walter and Lorna shared a love for music and dancing and would ‘boogaloo’ with the best of them. Walter was the cook of the family. After starting his business and working from home, he agreed to provide a home cooked meal to Lorna every day. He moved through the Joy of Cooking from start to finish. He was an amazing cook.
Walter’s ashes will be brought to the place he loved most, the family cottage on Crow Lake, Ontario. His memory will live on amongst the apple, pine, and mountain ash trees he planted, nurtured, and protected for over 35 years.
