Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON WILFRED GLUTING
Gordon died suddenly and tragically at his home on July 22, 2024.
He was loved and will be sadly missed by his wife of 44 years, Sherry, son Jim (Diana), daughter Kathy (Cory), grandchildren, Samantha (Braegan), Jacob, Braydon (Nikita) and lan (Maddy) and his great-grandchildren, Owen and Blair. His brothers and sisters, Ed (Hilda), Marg (Dennis), Grace (George), Chuck (Sharon) and Liz (Harold) will truly miss him as will multiple nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his son Edward and his parents, Jacob and Violet Gluting,
His family remembers his love for them, his sense of humour and love of a good laugh, his warmth, dependability and a strong work ethic. He was kind, headstrong, gentle, independent and steadfast, He was the proudest grandpa.
As a young man, Gordon worked in the pulp and paper mills of British Columbia, but moved to Winnipeg to be closer to his family when Jim and Kathy were quite young. He worked for Canada Post as a mail carrier until his retirement October 2005. After that time, he kept fit by walking, cycling, and cross country skiing many miles on his own or with his brothers or grandchildren. He had a love-hate relationship with golf but certainly enjoyed the camaraderie of the game. Gordon enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also made a great pumpkin pie. He loved to fly "but only in a small plane" and remembered taking flights with friends with excitement and joy.
To celebrate his life and the memories we cherish, a service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, consider spending some time in nature.

Gordon and his wife Sherry have always been so kind to my family and I was so sad to hear of his untimely passing. I am grateful I got to see Gordon recently at a family get together where he was kind, charming, and welcoming as he's always been. - Posted by: Steve Basham (Cousin in law) on: Aug 01, 2024

So many great memories from back in the high school days, like gathering at the Gluting home on Fridays after school and getting dancing lessons from Grace before heading to Friday night canteen. Great friendships are never forgotten. Condolences to the entire family. Karl & Linda Fabian - Posted by: Karl Fabian (School $ neighborhood friend) on: Jul 31, 2024
