Peacefully, on November 1, 2022, Aubrey passed away at Fred Douglas Lodge. Aubrey was 80 years old.
Aubrey was born in Centreville, Nova Scotia. He left Nova Scotia as a young man on his way to British Columbia. Aubrey got as far as Winnipeg where he ended up putting down roots. Aubrey met and married Margaret Bale and they spent their lives living in Winnipeg.
Aubrey was an entrepreneur by nature. He challenged himself with new ventures throughout his life. From grocery stores to art galleries Aubrey left his mark. He developed the Manitoba Art Expo and gave artists a space to showcase their work. He organized fundraisers for The Rainbow Society and was quietly generous to people and causes that were close to his heart.
Aubrey loved nature and spent time wandering with two cameras around his neck looking for "the picture" of owls or birds. He got to know people from all walks of life while he was observing the natural world.
Aubrey had an amazing village of friendship and love surrounding him. Aubrey's family sends love to Ron Boyd, Dave Chell, Dave Cooper, and John Epp for their support. Aubrey's family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Glenn Hayes for his support and endless legwork during Aubrey's last years.
Thanks to the staff of Fred Douglas Lodge for their care of "Mr. Sunshine".
