RICHARD OWEN LANGILLE
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Owen Langille on July 22, 2024, after a brave but brief battle with esophageal cancer.
Rich will be lovingly remembered by his parents Ron and Carol Langille, sister and brother-in-law Rhonda and Brad Plohman, and his many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his sister Michelle, brother Raymond, maternal grandparents Ted and Beryl Jones, and his paternal grandparents Gordon and Dee Langille.
Richard’s career with the McPhillips Street Casino spanned 24 years, where he made many lasting friendships.
Rich treasured his 1974 Dodge Charger, which he bought when he was 16 years old. He also enjoyed his rides on his Victory motorcycle, which will be donated to the Manitoba Chapter of Ride for Dad (Prostate Cancer Research), as per his request.
We would like to thank Dr. Tamara Buchel, Lisa Bonds, PA, and the amazing staff at Kingsbury Family Medical Centre for their outstanding compassion, and for going above and beyond to provide the best possible care for Richard during this very difficult time. We would also like to thank the doctors and nurses of Selkirk Hospital.
In keeping with Richard’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, or the Manitoba Chapter of Ride for Dad, or a charity of your choice.

Richard and I were not only coworkers but friends. I had the pleasure of working with him and his Mom at MSC for many years. In 2021 when I came into the security department Richard showed me the ropes!! We had many conversations over breaks. Always a positive person and very likeable. I will miss you Richard. My deepest condolences to his family. Free from pain and resting in peace. - Posted by: Shannon Oliver (Friend/Coworker ) on: Jul 28, 2024

My buddy at work and always kind and considerate and my team mate at work who always picked me up for all the work training over the years and you always waited until I was in my house and you would give a farewell wave until we saw each other again. I will miss our long conversations and all the lunches you and I shared Richard. I will never forget the last time I saw you Richard and I miss you already and I know you had to leave as you were tired and now you are not in any pain. I have been blessed having you in my life and when I think of you I smile and remember what a wonderful friend you are and I will keep you close to my heart Richard. - Posted by: kimberly mennell (friend) on: Jul 27, 2024
