Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE MARIE BELL
It is with heavy hearts we share that after an unexpected illness, we said goodbye to Anne Marie, our beloved sister, aunt, cousin and friend on June 6, 2024 at the age of 75. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg.
Anne Marie is lovingly remembered by her sister Vicky (Terry); nieces, Tamara (Kyle) and Larissa (Josh); her great-nieces and nephews, Violet and Oliver (Larissa), and Bowen and Laila (Tamara); in addition to many friends and extended family all over Canada.
She was predeceased by her brother Anthony; and her parents, Tamara and William Yurkiwski.
Anne Marie grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba and had a fulfilling career as a nurse, serving as the Director of Nursing at Seven Oaks General Hospital from 1981 to 1998. She then worked for Total Care Technologies, a medical software company in Kelowna, BC. Anne Marie had a strong passion for gardening that led her to become a member of the Master Gardeners Association in both Kelowna and Winnipeg. She enjoyed sharing her knowledge and collaborating with others while volunteering for various projects. She also loved traveling and visited many countries with her friends and family. The only continent she had not yet visited was Antarctica. She was such a kind and caring person, who would always go out of her way to help a friend or family member. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Regional Palliative Care Program of WRHA. We will be forever grateful to the nurses, doctors and care aids on floor 5B and the palliative care team at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg.
A celebration of Anne Marie’s life will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB.

I first met Anne Marie in my late twenties. We shared many a lunch time walk at work where we discussed and debated science, medicine, nursing, management and technology in healthcare. Our discussions were lively, engaging, and there was a lot of laughter! Over the years we had a lot of fun together. We travelled together to many places in Europe, North America and Japan. We enjoyed walking through gardens, parks, cities, museums - so many adventures, laughter and moments when we enjoyed the quiet beauty of nature! Anne Marie was a special person to me. She was a mentor, a friend and family. She was there for joyful times and during times of great sadness. She was always there to support you when you needed it most and the decisions you had to make were difficult. She was always caring and thoughtful. I am grateful to have known Anne Marie and to have had her be part of my life. Anne Marie will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Elizabeth Borycki (friend) on: Aug 15, 2024

I will greatly miss Ann Marie and know she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. I have known Ann Marie for over twenty years - she was a close friend to my wife and myself. I will always remember the amazing and stimulating discussions we had about everything from science to politics and her lively and thought provoking ideas. She always had good advice and was helpful when difficult times occurred, including helping me recover from a serious illness where it was comforting having her there to help me. We also had some great times travelling and I always enjoyed her company as she was a great travel companion and could walk endlessly as we explored cities like LA and San Diego on foot. I will always have fond memories of her and will miss her greatly. - Posted by: Andre Kushniruk (friend) on: Aug 15, 2024
