Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) GEORGE CARPICK
William George Carpick grew up in Northern Manitoba and it’s the place that shaped his heart, spirit, and sense of community. During his life he was fond of fishing, hunting, trapping, camping, and adventuring with his family and friends. Bill died on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 63. In recent years he struggled with health issues but that didn’t stop him from living the best life possible.
Bill’s kindness, intelligence, curiosity, wit, and love of a good story drew him to all sorts of people wherever he went. He excelled at embellishing tales to the delight and amusement of his audiences. His vast knowledge of history and obscure information added to his charm.
Bill was born on November 28, 1960, in Lynn Lake, Manitoba, the second oldest of four children. He was raised in Lynn Lake and Leaf Rapids, Manitoba when they were both still isolated communities surrounded by the largely intact Boreal Forest. In his early years he worked in the mining industry in various capacities.
Bill is survived by his dear mother, Eva Carpick; sisters, Betty Carpick, Sheila Pruden (Brian), and Susan Carpick. He is treasured by his nephews and nieces, Matthew Wilkins, Georgia Wilkins, Eden Wilkins, Everett Pruden, John Pruden, Susan Pruden, and Eric Pruden. Bill was predeceased by his father, William Carpick in 1984.
Bill was truly one of a kind. He was well loved and will be missed immensely.
Eva and the family would like to thank our many friends and family for their kindness and generosity to Bill over the years. A special thanks to Brian Templeton for being such a good friend.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Ducks Unlimited (attention: The Pas, Manitoba chapter for the Saskatchewan River Delta) or the Canadian Mental Health Association/Across Manitoba. A service in celebration of Bill will be held at a later date.
