Peacefully with family by her side, Marion Curle, affectionately known as Auntie Minnie, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the age of 95.
Marion Naomi Campbell was born May 29, 1929, in Edrans, MB, to William and Edith Campbell (nee Seaman). A natural born caregiver, Marion put her family first and looked after her siblings, parents, nieces and nephews for most of her life.
After meeting through family and friends, Marion married Vernie (Jiggs) Curle on November 12, 1975, in Winnipeg, MB. In 1981, Auntie Minnie and Uncle Jiggs moved to McDonald Avenue in Brandon, MB, where they resided until moving to Fairview Personal Care Home together in 2020.
Though they had no children of their own, Auntie Minnie and Uncle Jiggs welcomed every niece and nephew with open arms. The door was always open with bingo, cribbage, crokinole and snacks at the ready. Whether she was attending a special event, coming over for supper, babysitting, or enjoying happy hour, Auntie Minnie thrived on being surrounded by family.
Marion was predeceased by her doting husband Jiggs, her parents, her siblings, and many extended members of her family. She leaves behind her sister-in-law, Marjorie Thompson and an abundance of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff on the third floor at Fairview Personal Care Home, for their excellent care of both Auntie Minnie and Uncle Jiggs during their stay.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 12th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa, MB. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Marion may be made to a charity of your choice.
