It is with deepest love that we announce the passing of Peter after a brief stay at Victoria Hospital.
Peter was married to the love of his life, Patricia (née McGowan), for 67 wonderful years. Peter leaves behind a loving family: daughter, Janice (Gary Laidlaw); sons, Jonathon and Paul (Thomas Bianco); grandchildren, Matthew Armstrong (Blair), Brittany Armstrong (Matt Ellis), and Eero Gaffney, and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Emily, and Henry Armstrong.
Peter grew up in the north end of Winnipeg where in his younger years, he excelled at hockey. He was an avid golfer and curler all his adult life and loved a good game of bridge. His entire working career was spent at the Manitoba Telephone System. He served as a reservist with the Winnipeg Grenadiers.
Since 1947, Peter has spent as much of the summer as possible at Victoria Beach, a place always close to his heart. In honour of his love for VB, his family will host a celebration of his life at the family cottage on August 18, which would have been his 98th birthday.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Victoria Hospital Foundation or Winnipeg Humane Society.
