So sad to hear of Audrey’s passing. We were good friends and a part of the AFF (all for fun) club. We met monthly for over fifty years from newlyweds to grandparents and beyond. Although time has taken its toll on bodies and minds the friends we became will never fade not even now. The memories of gatherings, trips to GF, and other destinations, so many laughs, so many tears. Condolences to the family. - Posted by: Helen Mitchell (Friend ) on: Oct 28, 2024

Audrey was a long-time friend of our family. My father and her father were the best of friends in Inverness Scotland and they came out to Canada together in 1923. Our families saw a lot of each other especially spending summers at the cottages in the town of Gimli. As a youngster, ten to twelve years of age, I would accompany my mother to the Eaton’s store on Portage Avenue. We always visited Audrey at her “Notions’ counter. We were often guided to her location by the sound of her laughter. Later, when Carole and I were first dating, there was an open invitation from Audrey and Bruce to drop by to the Conway house on a Friday night. We often did that and enjoyed a rye and ginger, Audrey’s New York slice and Bruce’s Jonah Jones records. Later as an orchestra leader, I played for many socials and weddings of friends and acquaintances of Audrey and Bruce. She loved to dance and she loved to laugh. We’ll miss Audrey.
