DAVID LESLIE BROWN

It is with broken hearts that we announce his passing on August 18, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. David carried himself with grace throughout his ordeal and was grateful for the love and support from his family.

Born in 1946, David spent most of his life in St. Charles and St. James. Soon after retiring from the City of Winnipeg Parks & Recreation department in 2000, we moved to Sandy Hook, and wintered in Mission, Texas for many years. Although he often could not find the right words of praise, he was immensely proud of our little family and their every accomplishment.

Left to grieve is Dianna, his loving wife of 59 years; son Tim (Karen); grandsons, Scott (Jessica) and Kenton (Ashlin), and precious great-granddaughter Avery Pearl; siblings, Rick (Barb), Sharon (Gerry Lepine) and Lauri (Peter Buhr); brother-in-law Derrick Nugent (Wilda). David was predeceased by his parents, Faith and Leslie Brown.

The family would like to thank the compassionate professionals of CancerCare Manitoba/Palliative Care Program, as well as the staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli for their efforts to provide relief during David's final week.

A celebration of David's life will be held in September.
