RANDALL (RANDY) JAMES CRERAR

May 23, 1953 - August 13, 2024

Randy left this life peacefully and sailed away on his final voyage.

Randy will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Janice, daughter Jennifer, son Trevor, his sister Karen (Peter), sister-in-law Maureen, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Randy was predeceased by his daughter Angela Marie, father Harvey, mother Mabel, his brothers, Jack and Keith, and his sister-in-law Helen.

Randy loved the water and spent many happy years with family swimming, boating, fishing and waterskiing on Lake Winnipeg at the family cottage. Randy’s love of swimming played a part in his involvement at the St. James YMCA Water Polo Team. Later, after a move to Montreal, he played on the National Water Polo Team.

Randy loved the outdoors and enjoyed deer and moose hunting, sailing and walks in the woods. He also enjoyed cutting and storing firewood each fall.

Randy and Janice lived in Saskatoon, Grand Prairie, Riverton, Winnipeg, Stonewall and Kenora as jobs with the Bank of Nova Scotia and credit unions necessitated relocation. Randy managed several credit unions and completed his career as CEO of Lakewood Credit Union in Kenora, where he was very successful.

In Randy’s retirement years he worked part time as a school bus driver. He loved his job and the children loved their "bus driver Randy". He was a no-nonsense driver and cared for all the children and teens in his care.

Special thanks to Diane Dilts and Garry Kosack for their many visits as his disease progressed. They lifted his spirits and helped him through difficult times. Garry was also a great help to Janice with renovations on Randy’s residence.

Randy was loved very deeply and supported over the years by his only sister, Karen.

A special thank you to Dr. Heartly and staff at the Grace Hospice. You were all so loving and caring.

A graveside burial will be held at St. Georges Anglican Church in Wakefield, Manitoba. Close friends and family will be notified of the time and date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Wildlife Federation.

Rest in Peace Randy.

Sail on sailor.
