JILLIAN REY HICKEY

(BEAVIS)

June 16, 1994 – August 11, 2024

It is with heavy hearts the family of Jillian announce her passing on August 11 , 2024. Jillian leaves behind her father Ray Beavis; sister Alysha; brother Sam; grandmother Florence; uncle Glenn, aunty Donna, uncle Terry, and many other aunties, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Pam Hickey and her grandparents, Viola Hickey, John Hickey and Samuel Beavis.

Jillian was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at St. Boniface Hospital. Jillian attended elementary school at West St. Paul School and Robert Andrews and then graduated from Garden City Collegiate. Anyone who knew Jillian, knew her two passions in life, singing and travelling. Jillian travelled all around the world to over 60 countries, making many lifelong friends along the way. Throughout her travels, she performed opera at every chance she got. Whether it was a small karaoke bar, a boat in Vietnam, or a formal performance, she always found a microphone to share her stunning voice. Jillian went to UBC, U of M, achieved a bachelor's degree, studied three years of opera and continued to achieve her master’s degree in tourism management in Barcelona.

Jillian loved karaoke, boat rides on her dad’s boat, and the many weekends at Sandy Hook, Falcon Lake and living life with her friends and family. Jillian was a courageous, brave, loving, and beautiful soul and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

  • A BEAUTIFUL young GIRL riding a pony lit up my neighborhood 1 warm summer day with a smile brighter than the hot sun, and a heart full of passion, warmth, and a determination to excell in whatever path she chose. Jillian rose to each challenge with strength, pride, and an enormous amount of LOVE for her family and friends. She will be remembered as a Beautiful Songbird flying with grace, dignity, and on an endless flight determined to find happiness in her chosen path which was WELL LOVED and LOVINGLY LIVED. Ray, Alysha, Sammy, and family, I'm so saddened to hear of this. I thank you for bringing Jillian into our lives, and truly hope she is at peace. She Loved each of you deeply. She has left a hole in our lives, but many happy times which I am forever grateful to have been part of. LOVE with Passion, Live with LOVE. - Posted by: Shelly Allison (Family friend) on: Aug 24, 2024
