JOAN BEATRICE KRAITBERG

Joan was born on July 24, 1938, and died suddenly on August 15, 2024 at the age of 86 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Beatrice Brown; siblings, Geri (David Stammers), Patti (Bill Logan); and her two husbands, Harold Radke and Larry Kraitberg. She will be sadly missed by her siblings, Dale (Carol) and Cindy (Eddy). She is also survived by Larry's family, Noreen (Brian), Cheryl, and Bryan (Sonia).

At the age of 16, Joan started as a switchboard operator and retired from paging at HSC. She loved knitting, books, square dancing, trees, children and playing cards.

Our "Auntie Joan" was loved by many!

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I am so sorry to learn of Auntie Joan's passing. She and Uncle Harold were long time friends of my parents and as children, my sister and I enjoyed spending time with them. I also enjoyed getting to know Larry and seeing he and Auntie Joan enjoying their times together. I had a lovely visit with her when I was in Winnipeg in 2022 and am grateful for that time together. Bless you Auntie Joan and hope you are knitting and dancing!! Jane Ann - Posted by: Jane Ann Mintenko (Rutledge) (family friends) on: Nov 17, 2024

  • I worked with Joan in paging at HSC for a number of years prior to her retirement. She was such a personality, knew everyone and all about the hospital and she shared this knowledge so freely. It was odd not having her shhh me because my voice was too loud after she retired. Rest in Peace Joan. - Posted by: Judi McFarland (Former co-worker) on: Aug 31, 2024

  • My sympathy to the Kraitberg family on the loss of Joan. My husband Joe and I met her when she married Larry, a long time friend, and it was so great to see the happiness they shared. - Posted by: pat psooy (friend ) on: Aug 24, 2024
