CLARENCE ARTHUR PISCHKE

September 7, 1927 - August 25, 2024

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Clarence Arthur Pischke. Clarence died peacefully at home on August 25, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents, Rudolf and Caroline, his daughter Dawn and son-in-law Jeff. He is survived by his loving wife Gail, his two daughters, five grandchildren and brother Harvey.

Clarence was born in Whitemouth, MB but farm life was not his calling. Clarence lived and breathed Scotiabank. His career as a Banker spanned 45 years and took him all over Canada and to New York City! Clarence and Gail chose Winnipeg to settle down, where they put down roots and started a family.

Clarence and Gail celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on July 11, 2024.

Upon retirement, Clarence wanted to give back to his community. This led him to The Lion’s Club of Winnipeg and eventually to St. Boniface Hospital. Clarence devoted 24 plus years of volunteer services. In addition, he maintained an active role within the Whitemouth community; from walking in the local parade, to selling tickets at pancake breakfast, or organizing a horseshoe tournament, he was always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

Clarence was a force! His outgoing personality, humour and quick wit made him one of a kind. His spontaneity and love for adventure made him unpredictable and entertaining. Never a dull moment. He was a great man, a devoted husband, an incredible father, a nurturing and caring grandfather, and he was a dear friend to those that knew him.

Despite health challenges over the past year, his spirit remained happy and strong. He never complained. He endured by drawing strength from those around him. His family and friends meant the world.

The family would like to thank all the home care workers who provided exceptional care and compassionate support.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Whitemouth, MB.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I met Clarence while working in the gift shop at St. B. He was an amazing person and volunteer. He was always balanced to the penny and took pride in his work. On many, many occasions his laughter and pranks would have us in tears from laughter. Over the years I often thought about Clarence. It was my pleasure to have worked with him. Thank you Clarence for the memories ❤️ Sending condolences and prayers 🙏 to his family. Love Gwen - Posted by: Gwen Breland (Co worker ) on: Aug 29, 2024

  • I will miss his humor, spontaneity, and all around genuine personhood. So sorry for your loss Gail. - Posted by: Randall Klaprat (Friend) on: Aug 28, 2024

  • I came to know Clarence as a volunteer at St. Boniface Hospital where I worked for twenty three years. The loveliest man, always a smile on his face. He mentored my children when they started volunteering as well. One day when I came into the gift shop, he pulled me aside and said he wanted to show me something in his office, here he had cut out a picture of my son who had graduated from the police force and he found a picture of him in the paper. Clarence had cut that picture out and had it on the wall. He was so proud of him. Over the years I would run into Clarence in Whitemouth after we retired and moved to the lake. He always remembered me, as well would always ask how are Daniel and Selena doing? An incredible man! - Posted by: donna papetti (friend) on: Aug 28, 2024
