We are sad to announce the passing of Aquila (Quil) Irene Bagot (née Bate) on July 26, 2024.
Quil was born on July 22, 1923. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Rose Bate, her husband Cornelius, brothers, Hugh (Heb) and Edwin (Bun) and daughter-in-law Jacquay Bagot.
She is survived by two sons, Peter (Linda Arlt) and Douglas, grandchildren, Daniel Benot (Kirsten), Megan Wilson (Algernon) and Lauren Bagot as well as four great-grandchildren, Matteus, Andreas and Kateryna Benot and Aquila Wilson.
Quil had an abiding love of family, church and music and being a founding member of St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church allowed her to enjoy all three things. She was an active member of St. Bart’s in many areas including the alter guild and the choir in which she was active in until her mid-90s.
The family wishes to give many thanks to the staff of Faith Lane at River East Personal Care Home for their care and friendship in her final years.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew’s, 881 Autumnwood Drive followed by a reception in the hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Bartholomew Anglican Church would be appreciated.
