DAVID ARTHUR ARBOUR

September 12, 1963 - September 3, 2024

With tremendous sadness, we announce the passing of David Arthur Arbour in the early hours of September 3, 2024, surrounded by his family after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 60.

Dave was born on September 12, 1963, in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Ontario. He spent his childhood in Thunder Bay before moving to Winnipeg as a young adult where he lived most of his adult life. His career briefly took him to Saskatoon, and to Brandon in his later years.

Dave spent nearly his entire career in supply chain and warehouse management, beginning with Westfair Foods and ending at Westburne Electric. He was passionate about his work and excelled in it. He leaves behind many cherished colleagues and friends from the Westburne family in Brandon and Winnipeg.

Dave was an avid golfer, competing in weekly leagues and weekend trips with friends. He enjoyed the outdoors all his life, including cycling and camping and was a lifelong Blue Bomber fan. He held dear time with friends after work or on the golf course and visits with family.

He will be remembered for his unparalleled sense of humour, though most fondly for his selfless dedication to others, especially for those fortunate enough to call him family or a friend, even up until his final moments. He was fiercely supportive of his two sons and their endeavours.

Dave will be dearly missed and forever remembered by his sons, Jorden Arbour (Alysa) and Aaron Arbour, brother Darren Arbour and sister Esther Escott (Ben) as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Doug Arbour (Diane) and parents, Arthur and Arlene Arbour and his beloved cat, Mary.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (come and go) at The Eagle’s Nest (Wheat City Golf Course), 3500 McDonald Avenue, Brandon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of David to the Western Manitoba Cancer Centre, 300 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB, R7A 5M8.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My condolences to the Arbour family. I’ve spent many years with Dave and I have many stories and memories that I can hold dear to my heart. He was more than my best friend, he was my rock and my travel buddy, I will miss him deeply. Our last trip, we travelled to Montreal along the St. Lawrence River and it was absolutely beautiful and I’m so happy I got to do it with Dave. I will miss his goofy personality which made me laugh all the time and his inviting smile. He was a kind soul and would do anything for his friends and family. Until we meet again Dave, I love you 💕 - Posted by: Trish Haines (Friend) on: Sep 14, 2024
