In memory of Kenneth Carlyl White of Brandon, Manitoba, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who passed away in the palliative care unit at the Assiniboine Centre on September 8, 2024, after a long and hard battle with cancer.
Ken was born in Portage La Prairie on September 28, 1947 to Marjarie and Len White. He was raised in Rapid City with his siblings where he attended Mount Vernon School. Right after completing his grade 8, Ken moved to Saskatoon where he jumped into the workforce and took up a job in construction. He eventually took up residence in Brandon working for McPhail Farms, where he worked for fifty years until his retirement. Ken took great passion and pride in any endeavour he embarked on. His hobbies included farming, gardening, woodworking, painting, and photography.
In 1973, he met the love of his life Florence Eileen Moorhouse accompanied by her two children Raymond and Jason White, Ken also had a son Lenard from a previous marriage. He then married Florence on March 1, 1975 and they had two more children Diana and Wesley White.
He is predeceased by his parents, aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife Florence; his children Raymond White (Christine), Jason White, Lenard White, Diana Wiebe (Richard), and Wesley White (Sandra); his siblings Bert White, Ruby Thibault (Guy), Marlene Poirier, and Linda Thongphang (Singphaly); and his many grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Monetary Estates, 40 Mockingbird Drive, Brandon, Manitoba R7C 1A6 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Ken be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
