It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Erma Margaret Crawford, who made her way to the spirit world, joining her husband Laird on August 2, 2024, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Left to mourn her passing, with a lifetime of memories to cherish, are her sisters, Connie Laderoute and Verla Clark, her brother Harry Delorme (Judy), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Erma was predeceased by her husband Laird Crawford, parents, Stella (nee Trottier) and Clement Delorme, sister Dolores Lahache, brothers, William (Bill), Vernon (Bud) and Terrance (in infancy), brothers-in-law, Gene Lahache and Darryl Clark.
Erma was born on the Cowessess First Nation in Saskatchewan and attended Marieval and Lebret residential schools. After graduation, she moved to Winnipeg where she earned a Bachelor of Education degree and taught in various locations around Manitoba for the next 35 years.
Erma and Laird were married in 1972 and made their home in Pine Falls for many years before moving to Winnipeg for health reasons. They enjoyed travelling and in retirement vacationed in Puerto Vallarta annually for 18 years.
Erma loved spending time with family. She always looked forward to family gatherings and would often bake goodies for the occasion. She looked forward to her weekly phone calls from her sister in Montreal to catch up on the week’s news and would then call her sister in Winnipeg and catch up with her too. She enjoyed baking, reading and doing the daily crossword in the paper and bus tours to different casinos with her husband and sister.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Brightwater Senior Living for the care they provided.
In keeping with Erma’s wishes, cremation has taken place and her ashes will be buried at a later date.

I first met Irma as my kindergarten teacher in Pine Falls School apparently I gave her a hard time LOL as she would send letters back to my mom saying I wanted to teach the class LOL I find that funny today, and well towards the end when Laird was getting to his final passing October 2019 so I got to see Irma and Laird that last day, and I never got to see Irma since except for talking on the phone it's unfortunate that she has passed so early but now she's with Laird so so that is a happy aspect of the situation my condolences to the family all the Delormes and any other family members may she rest in peace. - Posted by: Gilles Bowman (My fathers wife (Laird Crawford) on: Sep 17, 2024

Erma was a soft spoken, extremely intelligent, caring, patient and loving person. I had many enjoyable visits at Laird and Erma’s home. They were always gracious hosts. Rest in peace Erma. - Posted by: Kelly Sharpe (Friend) on: Sep 14, 2024
