Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Dear Dorothy and Family, I was so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I have wonderful memories of Bob at Oxford United Church. My deepest sympathy to all of you. Joyce Karlowsky - Posted by: Joyce Karlowsky (Friend, and neighbour) on: Sep 25, 2024

  • When Bob was our minister at St Vital United, and my 7 year old daughter was having multiple heart issues and surgeries, he was a great help to me. Thankfully she is well, but I will never forget his support which I needed and depended on. Condolences to the family for the loss of a wonderful man. - Posted by: Mavis Brisson (Friend) on: Sep 19, 2024

  • My husband (of 59 years) and I met through Rev. Galston's youth group at the St. Charles United Church in 1963. He had a great impact on our little group through his gentle ways and teachings. He made everyone feel so at ease and included. Condolences to all who loved him. - Posted by: Dianna Brown (former congregant) on: Sep 15, 2024

  • Deepest sympathies go to this beautiful family of Bob’s. Rev. Galston was always my favourite minister at St. Vital United Church growing up. He took notice of us kids and asked us to get closer to the front of the church so he can tell us a story that was always so entertaining. (Personally I preferred this to Sunday school downstairs!) I was proud to give back by caring for his mother in her time of need in personal care. Then by sheer ‘divine appointment’ Bob & Dorothy moved into the same assisted living as my parents. After losing my dear Dad 3 yrs ago my family was so fortunate to have Bob say a few words at his funeral which we cherish today and always. God bless you Rev. Bob Galston for manufacturing massive smiles to anyone who crossed your path. R.I.P. - Posted by: Gina Bye (Friend) on: Sep 15, 2024

  • I was one of the lucky ones. Bob preformed our wedding service, as well as the funeral services for both of my parents. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those whose lives you touched. Yvonne, Brenda, Blair and families cherish the memories. Gone but NEVER forgotten. - Posted by: Rena Corbett ( Cochrane) (Friend) on: Sep 14, 2024

  • Rev Galston married my child hood sweetheart and I in 1976. He was my minister for as long as I can remember. He made children welcome in his services and invited people to the front pews from the back. He raised me up when things went wrong and I am eternally grateful for his belief in me. Rest in eternal sleep. - Posted by: Wendy Hart (flockton) (Minister at st vital united church) on: Sep 14, 2024

  • So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. My condolences to his family. Bob was very dear to my heart from my teenage and young adult years at St Vital United, to Charleswood United, to the present day. He was a well loved and respected gentleman and minister by my family and myself. He will now be walking around Heaven with Dawn. Bob’s wife, Dorothy, and his family are in my prayers. May God be with him till we meet again. - Posted by: Louise (Fedak) Dahle (Friend and congregant) on: Sep 14, 2024

  • I’ve known Bob since he was our minister at Charleswood United before Michael Wilson and then with Michael. I remember him as being a fun loving man, very easy to talk to and one of very few excellent ministers. I do not know Dorothy but sang in the choir with his 1st wife Dawn. I recently lost my Father on Sept. 5th so I share in the grief with Dorothy and Bob’s family. He was a wonderful man and most surely will be missed. I am so very sorry for your loss.
